Our Core ValuesEach Sunday we come together for engaging worship celebrations with people of all ages. At Willow Grove hear a variety of music as we praise God together – keyboards, organ, piano, guitar, contemporary songs, traditional hymns, jazz, spirituals, choir anthems, children ringing bells. Pastor Cynthia preaches sermons that make you think, make you laugh, and help you grow in your relationship with God in Jesus Christ. The children’s sermons help people young and old alike reflect on a Bible story or one of life’s basic questions. Throughout the year we have special worship services: Mardi Gras Jazz Worship, Good Friday Taize Tenebrae, and Youth Sunday.
Music and the Arts at Willow Grove
Willow Grove Church has a growing Ministry of Music and the Arts from a variety of traditions and cultures. God has shown us ways we can build bridges of hope and understanding that involve people of all ages making music together. Our gifted Director of Music, Paul DiDario, is a Julliard graduate who directs our adult choir, leads our children’s bell choir and plays inspiring music on the piano and keyboard every Sunday. Our church is home to many outstanding musical groups who rehearse and perform here. And throughout the year, we host events that celebrate the visual arts, including fabric art and quilts.
Service Projects
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to show God’s love in acts of service, peacemaking and compassion. Some of our current service projects are sorting food at the regional Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside, hosting families through HomeFirst, and Food on the First. The Youth Group goes on an annual mission trip where they do hands-on repair projects and work in soup kitchens. Women of all ages knit and crochet to make items for people in need through the KniTTogether group. We also provide financial support for organizations and mission efforts both through the Presbyterian Church USA and other agencies.
