Gathering in God's Name

Welcome and  †Greeting

Prelude:   Spring Song       by Louis Vierne

†    Praise Songs:

Halle, Halle, Hallelujah

Hal-le, hal-le, halle-lu-jah! (x3)
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

The Trees of the Field

You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
The mountains and the hills will break forth before You;
There'll be shouts of joy and the trees of the field
will clap, will clap their hands.
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)
The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)
While you go out with joy.

Call to Worship

Leader:    Where shattered hearts are made whole,
where wounded souls are healed,
where life is stronger than death,

All: There, the stone has been rolled away.

Leader:   Where the lonely become our friends,
Where a stranger is welcomed home,
Where hope is stronger than despair,

All: There, we find Jesus walking and opening our eyes.
Alleluia! Christ is risen! Let us worship God.

We Come Before God to Confess Our Sins

Invitation to Confession

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

Forgive us, Lord, when we tightly shut our eyes,
when we simply cannot or will not open ourselves
to Your presence and Your leading.
Forgive us when we see only an enemy in our neighbor.
Forgive us when we refuse to hear Your voice calling to us.
Help us watch for You, listen for You, discern Your presence in our lives
and in our church and in our world.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Silent Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Forgiveness

Sung Response

Come Holy Spirit, Fall Afresh on Me
Come, Holy Spirit, fall afresh on me.
Fill me with Your power, satisfy my needs.
Only You can make me whole, give me strength to make me grow.

Pastoral Prayer

Lord's Prayer

Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

†    Doxology:  Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart    (please stand)

Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to The Holy One,
give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son.
Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to The Holy One,
give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son.
And now let the weak say "I am strong";
let the poor say "I am rich" because of what the Lord has done for us.
And now let the weak say "I am strong";
let the poor say "I am rich" because of what the Lord has done for us.
