About
Hudson Willow Coffee. So many people ask where the name came from?! I would love to share the story.
Hudson: My mother's parents lived on Hudson Ave in a tiny home built in 1919. My mom and a few of her siblings were actually born in the house! My parents purchased the home from my grandparents in 1957 and raised 8 children in the home. I am the youngest of 7 girls and 1 boy.
Willow: Outside our kitchen window was a willow tree. I loved that tree! I would play under that tree all four seasons.
In summer, I would lie underneath it daydreaming, and in the winter, snowmen were made. The long branches felt like protection from the outside world. I was always a scared kid.
I prayed on the name for years. I knew it had to be perfect; it had to fit, and it most certainly does...Hudson Willow.
Opening my business means more to me than just being an owner. My dad wanted to open a bagel shop but never had the time or was given the opportunity to do so. So, this is for him. I love you, Dad. I love you too, Mom, for keeping our little home so full of love, home-cooked meals, and where we all felt safe and welcomed. My parents had to sell the house back in 2012, but the memories will never leave me, my family, or anyone who entered 198 Hudson Ave.
